This activity is aimed at beginners from 16 yrs old and over, interested in learning how to row.

This 8 hour course which is split into 3 lessons, involves the introduction to the great sport of rowing. Participants will receive instruction from certified rowing instructors, where they will learn the mechanics of rowing, the basic techniques for “sweep” rowing and other general concepts.  Once completed, a participant will be comfortable rowing in the type of shell or shells that they’ve been trained on. You can also become a member of the club and enjoy all the benefits it provides. 

The initiation courses are given on Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm, followed by two evening lessons in the following week (Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm). Schedules are subject to change according to weather conditions. Your instructor will let you know of any changes. Persons interested in taking rowing initiation should be in good health and able to swim unaided.

The season starts in mid-May to end in October… weather permitting!
